Welcome! Tally ho!

Our B.V.I. Adventure is designed to give our family, friends and any other interested followers a look into the life of two expatriates making their way on the island of Tortola. Tortola is the largest island in the British Virgin Islands.

So, why did we move 2,000 miles away from our home in Knoxville, Tennessee? Michael accepted a position as the director of retail and international sales for a Caribbean clothing brand.

Cheers!

Smuggler's Cove Update

Since the scuffle at Smuggler's Cove that led the government to shut down the beach bars, things have been incredibly quiet at the beach.  We went again on Saturday.

Bizarrely, one of the former bar operators was there, watching over his space.  He wasn't serving any drinks or making any food, just sitting there in the shade, reading a newspaper.  He didn't seem like he wanted any company so we left him alone.  (My reporter skills must be waning because the former Amelia would have approached him with camera rolling to get the scoop!  Ha!)

We brought our own lunch and enjoyed the shade courtesy of the sea grape trees.

Anna Drake is loving the water more and more which makes these beach trips all the more fun!

Thanks for the post! We're coming to sail around the BVI next month and everyone talked about smuggler's cove. I was looking forward to beach shack bars!!
I fell down the rabbit hole reading other blog posts (trying to get restaurant information and whatnot) and loved your "two hour" answer of tailgating and a Vols V Gator game! We live in Gainesville and the first time I met my husband's friends (who we are going to the BVI with) was at the Tennessee game!
So, thanks for the wealth of first hand information and GO GATORS!
