Signage Sunday: Fasten Your Seatbelts!
I've previously blogged about driving in the BVI - yes, we drive on the left side and no, it's not so bad. That is, until you head up Joes Hill Road. (No apostrophe in Joes, BTW. I looked it up.)
Check out the sign at the bottom of the hill:
While the road it steep and 4-wheel drive is a must, we think this sign is an exaggeration of the grade.
This sign always gives me a good laugh. I just assumed the sign was supposed to turned a different way, but upon further reflection I think I've figured out what's happened here. It's important to note, this sign is on the left side of the road, facing drivers who are about to go up the hill... This is a sign that should be displayed when you're about to descend the mountain. If you rotate the sign to the left, or counter-clockwise, it will appear as if the truck is coming down the hill, right?
